It was so nice to be back on the Lagoon after a quick trip North for the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo. Out of the snow and cold, Yes!!!
Yesterday we were blessed with perfect sight fishing conditions. Slick calm water and lots of tailing redfish on the flats of Mosquito Lagoon. Tom and his wife Gloria joined me for their first saltwater flats trip ever. They could not have pick a better day. Some guys just have the fish mojo and Tom is one of them. I set the boat down on the first flat of the day, tied on one of my favorite morning flies, poled about 100 feet and the tails started appearing. Tom made his first cast of the morning to a nice school of tailers, a little short, he cast again and it was fish on. This redfish put Tom in his backing twice!!!

What a great way to start the day. We casted to tons of tailers all day and had some really exciting moments. No other fish to the boat yesterday, but Tom and Gloria learn a bunch about sightfishing in the salt. It was a pleasure fishing with you guys and I look forward to your next trip South.
I still have a few dates left this month, so get your trip booked today. The conditions on the Lagoon are perfect!!! Water is up a bit and the fish have spread out into the shallows looking for a snack!
Look forward to fishing with you,
Capt. Todd
