Well, the forecast was right on the money today. Darn right cold for this time of year. 41 degrees was the temp, not including the wind chill. Man it was a cold ride to our first spot this morning. Today I fished with Jen from North Carolina and she did a number on these Mosquito Lagoon Redfish. With the cold temps overnight, the fish were back in their winter haunts and all schooled up. Jen hooked into several Redfish and landed five very nice fish.

As the morning went on, the winds laid down and the Lagoon went perfectly slick!!! It was perfect timing as the sun was high in the sky and the shallows started to warm quickly. This meant one thing, TAILS everywhere!!! Jen got out the fly rod and had lots of good shots at tailing fish. She had one fish eat and it spit the fly. Also saw lots of gator trout on the sandy spots today!! The fish were a bit spooky with the calm water, but we had some great action.
Nice work Jen and I look forward to fishing with you again on your next trip to Orlando! Here are my May dates I have open - may 1,2, 4-7,9,11-13.
They are filling quick so get your day booked soon!
Hope to see you on the front of my Maverick SOON!
