Trout Bite!
Baitfish have flooded the flats of Mosquito Lagoon and the trout have been ambushing the bait pods. I fish with Jason and his Dad the other day and he got his first Sea Trout on fly! It was their first taste of Saltwater fly fishing and you will see him back on the Lagoon again, he has got the fever. We saw some nice schools of Redfish and big schools of Black Drum. The wind picked up early afternoon which made it a little tough for casting the fly. These guys worked hard and each had a trout to show for it! Jason and his Dad learned a ton about this great sport. Look forward to fishing with you guys again! Today I fished with Mark and Rod from Orlando. Again we saw good schools of Black Drum and Redfish, but no takers on the fly today. Mark did get one nice Sea Trout on light tackle, but he got off right at the boat. Back on the Lagoon tomorrow with one of my regular clients Clark. Should be a great day on the water with Sunny skies and light winds in the forecast. Still have some dates available the last week of May, so get your trip booked! See you on the water.. Capt. Todd
