Tough Conditions!
Despite the wind, patchy clouds and glare, Clarke from Baltimore still had a great day on Mosquito Lagoon. This time of year we usually have slick calm mornings with the sea breeze coming on in the afternoon. Well the sea breeze decided to start early yesterday. Made it tough to see the Redfish until we were right on top of them. We did have brief moments of perfect sightfishing conditions and during those times, Clarke had some great shots at fish. After a few hours on the big flats we headed to the back country to fish some culvert flows. Great fun as Clarke hooked up on this nice sea trout on his first cast to one of my favorite little spots. He ended up with another sea trout and a couple nice lady fish on the fly. The winds started to shift and lay down a bit, so we headed back out to the main flats for some more Redfish. With the improved conditions the fish were everywhere. Clarke had more good shots at fish and had one high teens Redfish eat the fly but no hook-up! So close!!! The weather took a turn for the worse as the dark afternoon clouds closed in on us. Back to the ramp and called it another great day on Mosquito Lagoon. Thanks Clarke and look forward to fishing with you again! I still have dates available during July for Redfish, Tarpon, and Snook. Feel free to call or email me for my open dates. Look forward to seeing you on the water, Capt. Todd
