Sightfishing!!!

Had a great weeks vacation on the west coast of Florida with the family. Stayed right on the beach and had a blast sight casting to snook and blasting casts into the surf. Had a few shots at some nice snook and had a couple eat the fly, but none to hand in the limited time I had to fish. Did land some nice Spanish Mackerel in the surf and a small Jack. I will be making a special trip back there for sure just to fish the beach for Snook.

Before I headed out of town, I fished with Jim and his son Kane. Kane and his brother fished with me a few weeks ago and had some great fun. It was Dad's turn and man were we in the fish!!! Kane hooked up first on a nice Redfish and after a short fight it spit the hook. Had more shots at tailing fish, but no takers. Next we headed to a spot I had seen some Bull Reds and they were there again. Jim made a perfect cast to a huge Redfish that slammed his bait and busted off with the hook set. That was tough!!!! Had some more shots at the big boys but no hook ups.

Then we headed to a flat that has had some huge schools of Black Drum and they were all over the place. It was not long and Jim was hooked up and this nice Black Drum came to hand. Jim landed another nice fish before it was time to call it a day as the thunderstorms rolled in on us. Thanks guys and look forward to fishing with you again soon. I see a Bull Red in your future!

I have several dates available next month so give me call to book your trip.
The fishing is very good right now for Redfish and Black Drum. Snook and Tarpon fishing is getting hot as well.

See you on the water!
