Fall is finally here!
Our first cold front of the season is rolling through Central Florida and this mean one thing, the shoreline fishing is about to go off! Sight fishing for Redfish busting baitfish on the shore is one of my favorite things to show my fly anglers. The first couple cool downs in water temps, really get the fish in an eating mode. The next few days following this cold front should be exciting. One more day of work in the office and then I will be on the water again for a few days in a row. Should have some great fishing reports in the days ahead. If you can block off a day to hit the water, give me a call and book a trip. Yesterday, I fished with Travis and Wally from Washington. Their first time fly fishing in the salt and what an experience. Set the boat down on the first flat of the morning and what did we see!!! Rolling Tarpon. Had a couple good shots at them, but no takers. Did see a few Redfish on the flat as well, but with the low light conditions first thing, we were right on them by the time we saw them spook. After the first couple hours the wind picked up and switched on us several times. Tough sight fishing conditions for sure. Travis did catch one nice Sea Trout and had a Redfish on, but it spit the hook. Great day on the water with two awesome guys who are passionate about fly fishing. Hope to see you on the front of my Maverick soon! Capt. Todd
