I had the pleasure of fishing with Penn and John from North Carolina the last two days. Yesterday started off with some foul weather, but by the time we got to our first flat of the morning, the front had moved through and the water slicked out. Not a soul in sight except lot's of tailing Redfish. Penn was up first with the fly rod and hooked his first fish on the 5th cast. It was an awesome take and a good fight, but the fish got off right at the boat.

Poled to a nice depression that has been holding a big school of Redfish and it was loaded with trout. Penn and John both hooked up on fly and spin. Did have a few shots at Redfish, but could not find the school. Finished up the day with a few more tailers before the weather forced us off. Great day on the water!!!!

Today was another fabulous day of fishing. We had sunny skies most of the day and great visibility. Winds were a little strong, but out of the NW which worked out fine. Once we found some clear water, we were on fish all day.
Several nice schools and Penn was first to hook up and land his first Redfish of the day. John had several fish eat today, but just could not get that hook set. So many awesome takes today and plenty of laughs as well.

Thanks guys, and I look forward to fishing with you both again in the coming months. With this next cool down, the fish should really school up. Love this time of year on Mosquito Lagoon! Still have some January dates available, so get your trip booked today!
See you on the water!
