Tough Weather Week!

Well, my week started out on the wrong foot. Not for me, but for my first client of the week. Got a call at 7am from him saying he had been up all night sick and he needed me to take him to the doctor. Serious case of food poisoning. So, it was a trip to the urgent care and CVS that rounded out the day! Man, did I feel bad for him.

My next trip was with Terry and Charlie. We were greeted with cold and windy conditions. As the day went on the wind laid down and the temps did rise a bit.

Heat of the day we had some good tailers and Terry hooked up on a very nice Redfish. A good fight, but the fly popped out right near the boat. So..... he almost landed his first Redfish on fly. You will see Terry back on the water again soon!!!!

Yesterday, I fished with Aaron from Michigan. He slipped away for the day from his families Disney vacation. Another cool and windy morning on the water, but the fish were shallow tailing away. Aaron got right after them despite the conditions. He had lots of shots at very nice fish and hooked a beauty, but a lift of the rod tip pulled the fly out.

It all came together shortly after and the fight was on! A good long battle and great rod work produced Aaron's first Redfish on fly! An awesome fish to see eat in 8 inches of water. This fish absolutely inhaled his deceiver.

Moved to another flat and then the sky started falling. Pouring rain for the next couple hours and then we bagged it. Did see a few tailers, but no other fish to the boat. Nice work Aaron and I look forward to fishing with you again in dry and warmer weather.

Canceled my trip today because of high winds, but next week looks good. Should have some great sightfishing!!! I am booked up the rest of the month, but still have a few days in March available. Take a look at those calendars and get your day book.

See you on the water!

Capt. Todd.
