Big Tails!!!!

Jon and Kelly joined me on the water yesterday to chase some Redfish. We were hoping to also catch the shuttle landing, but it was scrubbed because of weather. It did however land this morning as you can see in the photo above.

We had pretty good sightfishing conditons yesterday morning, but no tailers in the first spot. Did not even see a mullet jump. I had been seeing six very nice schools in that area and not one to be found. Headed to our next spot and started seeing some fish. Had a couple big schools of Redfish and Black Drum around us, but just could not get them to eat. Kelly did however catch this nice Sea Trout out of a school of Black Drum that was tailing right in front of the boat. It was a tough day for these guys as we did not land a Redfish.

Tried to talk these guys into hitting one more spot before we called it a day, but they needed to hit the road. So.... I dropped them off at the ramp and went back out to check on that spot. Sure enough, there were tailers! Had some good shots with no takes and then I saw this big boy with this huge tail in the air. Made the perfect cast and it was fish on!!!!! After complete chaos I landed this beauty. That was a great end to a perfect day at the office!!!!

Have a couple days off as I am heading North for the start of Michigan's Trout Season. Looking forward to casting some dry flies to rising trout! Back to Florida on Monday to chase Redfish. Life is good!!!!

Hope to see you on the water soon!

Capt. Todd.
