It was good to be back on the Lagoon after a quick family trip to the Panhandle for a long Mother's Day weekend. Did have a chance to fish the surf a bit and caught some big Sea Trout crashing bait! Great fun!!!!
Fished with Clark and his son in-law Steve the other day. Clark was on the fly rod all day and Steve worked the jerk baits on light tackle. We had so many great shots at fish cruising, tailing, busting bait, and some big schools as well.

Steve was first to score with this warm up fish that just hammered his jerk bait. This was Steve's first real sight fishing trip and he was loving it. That heart rate was up and the adrenaline was flowing. We also had some good shots at big schools of Black Drum that were just cruising the flats. No takers, but good fun casting to them.

Steve finished off the day with this beautiful Redfish in super shallow water. This fish ate and then just slowly swam away, until he figured out he was hooked. He took a few long powerful runs and then came to hand. Nice work Steve!!!!
Back on the water tomorrow and looking forward to another good day of fishing for my clients! Only have a couple of dates left in May and June, so get your trip booked soon.
See you on the water,
Capt. Todd
